Your Questions, Answered
How is psychological counselling different from psychotherapy?
These are two distinct paths of professional support. Psychotherapy is typically reserved for clinically diagnosed mental health disorders and often involves long-term treatment plans. Psychological counselling, which is what I provide, is oriented towards people facing real-life difficulties -- relationship strain, career crossroads, fertility challenges, or simply feeling stuck. My role is to help you build practical tools and fresh perspectives so you can move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
What can I expect during a session?
Each session runs for 60 minutes and happens over a secure video call. There is no rigid script -- we start wherever feels most pressing for you. Together, we explore what is going on beneath the surface and develop concrete steps you can take between sessions. Think of it as a collaborative conversation where you are heard without judgement, and where we actively work towards the changes you want to see in your life.
Is there a set number of sessions I should plan for?
There is no one-size-fits-all answer here, and that is actually a good thing. Some people experience a real shift after just 1-3 sessions focused on a specific issue. Others appreciate having a regular space to process ongoing challenges over several weeks or months. We will check in together about your progress and decide what feels right -- you are never locked into a fixed number.
What are the fees for counselling?
A 60-minute individual session is 170EUR, and couples sessions are 185EUR per session. If you would like to commit to a series, I offer reduced-rate bundles of 3 or 5 sessions. Full details and all available options are listed on the pricing page.
Will my health insurance cover the sessions?
Because my services fall under psychological counselling rather than statutory psychotherapy, they are not typically reimbursed by public health insurance in Germany. That said, certain private insurance policies and supplementary health plans do provide partial or full coverage for counselling. I would recommend reaching out to your provider directly to clarify what your plan includes.
Do you work with couples as well?
Absolutely. Alongside individual sessions, I offer dedicated couples counselling. Whether you are navigating recurring disagreements, feeling emotionally disconnected, or want to deepen your bond, we work together in a safe space where both partners feel heard. The goal is to rebuild understanding, improve how you communicate, and find your way back to each other.
I am struggling with fertility -- can you help?
Fertility counselling is one of the areas closest to my heart. The path to parenthood can be deeply emotional and often isolating. I work with individuals and couples at every stage -- from the early uncertainty of trying, through the rollercoaster of medical treatments, to processing loss or rethinking the road ahead. You do not have to carry this alone.
Everything happens online -- how does that actually work?
Every session takes place over a secure, encrypted video call -- no apps to download, no complicated setup. You simply need a device with a camera and microphone (laptop, tablet, or phone) and a reliable internet connection. Ahead of your first appointment, I will send you a personal link to our virtual meeting room. Many clients find that being in their own comfortable space actually helps them open up more freely.
How do you handle privacy and confidentiality?
Your trust is the foundation of our work together. I am bound by strict professional confidentiality -- nothing you share leaves the room. On the technical side, all video sessions use end-to-end encryption, and I follow rigorous data protection standards. You can speak openly, knowing that your privacy is fully safeguarded at every level.
What is the best way to book my first session?
The easiest way is to drop me a message via email or the contact form on this site. I will reply promptly with available time slots. Before we dive into a full session, I offer a complimentary 15-minute introductory call so we can get to know each other and make sure it feels like the right fit for you.
I am a leader or professional -- do you offer coaching too?
Yes, I do. My executive coaching draws on my background as a qualified psychologist to help you navigate high-pressure roles with more ease. Whether you are working on leadership presence, managing workplace stress, setting boundaries, or aligning your career with your personal values, coaching provides a structured yet flexible space to grow -- both professionally and personally.
Still have a question that is not covered here? I am always happy to hear from you. You are welcome to book a free, no-obligation 15-minute introductory call where we can talk through anything on your mind -- no pressure, just a conversation.
