Professional Online Counseling with Psychologist Sally Schulze
You matter.
You’ve probably been struggling with your current challenges for longer when you find yourself reading through my website. The truth is: the human mind is powerful, but it can also get stuck. You might have thought patterns, recurring negative feelings in waves or loops and behavioral patterns. Whatever you are going through, please know that reaching out and looking for help is courageous in itself and an act of self-care already.
My name is Sally Schulze, I am a Psychologist and Cognitive Behavioral Therapist with university education and clinical training from Germany. In my counseling I offer you a space to unfold and examine your patterns, to consider your options for change and to actually help you to implement change. Of course there’s no magic involved, and yet I can guarantee that dedicating a space to yourself and change that you want will bring results.
"Real change begins when you stop trying to manage everything alone and allow yourself the space to be heard."

How I Work
A space built around you, not a textbook
A space built around you, not a textbook
Every person who comes to me has a different story, and I treat it that way. I draw on cognitive behavioural techniques because they are practical and well-researched, but I shape every session around what you actually need - not a one-size-fits-all formula.
You will never feel judged or rushed. Some sessions might be reflective and quiet; others might involve specific exercises you can take into your week. And yes, there is room for humour, too. Counseling does not have to feel heavy to be meaningful.

About Me
The Person behind the Practice
The Person behind the Practice
People sometimes wonder whether a psychologist truly follows her own advice. For me that's a wholehearted Yes. I have had the privilege to receive coaching as an entrepreneur during my founding years of MentalStark and during its decline. I've gone to therapy, and grief counseling and I know that all the methods work, even if they seem simple. Having another human and a confidential, professional space is powerful.
In my free time I enjoy being around animals and in nature. I love to travel all over Germany to visit friends and I deeply care about the environment. I love to read and always appreciate book suggestions!

Common Questions About Online Psychological Counseling
How is psychological counseling different from psychotherapy?
Psychological counseling concentrates on specific life challenges and equipping you with practical tools to handle them. It is goal-oriented and typically shorter-term than psychotherapy, which tends to address deeper clinical diagnoses. Think of counseling as working with a qualified professional to solve a defined problem and build resilience for the future.
Is online counseling as effective as in-person sessions?
That’s hard to say because people who get help online usually get started more quickly whereas in-person appointments take longer to organize. In my personal experience I have benefitted most from help that I got as soon as I recognized a problem and that’s what I want to offer. Reach out today and there is a chance I have an appointment available for you this week.
What happens in a typical session?
Sessions are 50 minutes and on Google Meet. I have found Google meet is the video conferencing tool with the best performance even with patchy internet and across devices. If you prefer a different platform, I am open to using it when you provide a link to our session.
There is no script for my sessions. We usually start with what you feel most overwhelmed with on your own and all the approached you’ve tried so far to solve that problem. We look at your options realistically and build a shared understanding how thoughts, feelings, behavioral patterns and sometimes childhood experiences have shaped you. From there we proceed towards a decision, a commitment to change or a commitment to staying how you are and changing the environment.
How quickly can I expect to see progress?
That depends entirely on your unique situation. Some clients notice meaningful shifts after two or three sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support over several months. After our initial conversation, I will share my honest recommendation -- there is never any pressure to commit to more sessions than you need.
How much is the counseling?
