Psychologist Sally Schulze
Sally Schulze Psychologist & Counsellor

Thank you for visiting our psychological counselling page for Vienna. This city of music, coffeehouses, and cultural richness draws people from around the world -- yet building a fulfilling life here as an expat involves navigating emotional terrain that guidebooks rarely mention. The longing for familiar faces, the effort of adapting to Viennese social rhythms, and the challenge of feeling at home in a place that is not yet truly yours -- all of this deserves compassionate attention.

Through my work as an online psychological counsellor, I understand the specific pressures that expats in Vienna face. It is often the less obvious things -- the formality of social interactions, the feeling of being an outsider at a Heuriger, the coded signals that longtime Viennese seem to navigate effortlessly -- that gradually take their toll.

Below you will find local practitioners in Vienna alongside details of my online counselling practice.

  • About Me -- Sally Schulze

A question I hear surprisingly often: Sally, do you look after your own wellbeing too? The honest answer is: absolutely. As a speaker, expert, and founder, women's health is at the heart of everything I do. But I have learnt that giving my best means also protecting my own energy.

I live by a simple principle: walk the talk. So beyond MentalStark, TED stages, and podcast episodes, you will just as easily find me in a Frankfurt cafe, wandering by the lake, or carving turns on a snowboard.

My Qualifications and Approach

As a qualified psychological counsellor (CBT) and certified fertility counsellor (BKiD), I have accumulated more than 3,000 hours of dedicated online counselling experience. My practice is rooted in genuine warmth and radical acceptance -- I hold space for you to feel truly seen and valued, exactly as you are.

Central to my work is the quality of the relationship we build together. Your lived experience as someone navigating life in a new place calls for a particular kind of understanding, because moving between cultures brings challenges that are both profound and deeply personal.

Online Counselling for People Living Abroad

With extensive experience in psychological counselling, I provide a warm, non-judgemental online space for you. I recognise how disorienting it can be when your surroundings shift -- when everyday interactions feel slightly off-kilter, social expectations differ from what you are used to, and the reasons for your unease are hard to articulate.

During our video sessions, we work together to untangle these feelings. Whether you are wrestling with a sense of displacement, questioning where you truly belong, or carrying the weight of personal difficulties -- we will explore practical paths towards not merely getting by in Vienna, but genuinely thriving there.

If your relationship is under strain -- especially one that spans different cultural backgrounds -- my couples counselling can help you bridge those gaps, restore mutual understanding, and rebuild closeness.
